ART ACTIVITIES

Introductory Musical Education (for 1st Grade Pupils)
Musical group training and games are the ideal set-off for making kids fond of music. Kids discover the sounds of musical instruments, sing, dance, improvise, orchestrate and finally, compose. This revolves around Orff, the modern system of Kinesthetic education. Musical instructors, who are specialized in the needs of the particular age group, implement this system by utilizing kids' imagination and reinforcing their free self-expression.

Flute or Violin Group Classes (for 1st Grade pupils)
To those kids who already wish to start with a musical instrument, our Music School highly recommends flute or violin classes, which are taught in groups of three. Kids begin to learn through playing and entertaining themselves with their instructor and classmates.

Classical Music (for Pupils of all Grades)
The Music School of Ellinogermani Agogi, officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture, and employing experienced instructors, offers quality musical studies. The piano, the guitar, the violin, the violoncello, the flute, the oboe, the clarinet, the bassoon, the trumpet, the trombone, the horn, the saxophone and various percussion instruments "await" kids in order to introduce them to the magical world of music.

Music bands (for pupils of all Grades)
The study of musical instruments and music studies in general, become meaningful through musical practice. For those pupils of our Music School who have already taken the first steps in learning a musical instrument, small bands of chamber music are available. Kids are going to enjoy the opportunity to play music with the guidance of skilled musicians and to present their work to the audience regularly.

Choir (for students of all grades)
The children's choir of Ellinogermaniki Agogi is already famous. Its members are given the chance to be part of the school's cultural life, to give concerts, performances, participate in events along with established artists of the field.
The musical education, as well as the experience that the children earn are priceless for their future life.

Modern Music (for 4th, 5th and 6th Grade pupils)
The school takes kids' passion for rock, jazz and Latin American music into serious consideration. Therefore, our Music School gives them the chance to make their dream come true, as it enables them to study electronic guitar, electronic drone, drums, synthesizers, jazz saxophones, thus engage in the music they love and create their own music bands. A special course of Musical Technology is offered to kids who are interested in composing music with the help of the personal computer.

Greek folk and traditional music (for students of all grades)
For those students who adopt the motto 'return to the roots' the Music Department offers a complete suggestion. The children are given the opportunity to study the theory and practise folk or traditional music with the help of experienced and reputable teachers.

Theatrical games (for students of the 1st and 2nd grade)
Our specialized associates teach the children who attend this particular evening class the basic elements of theatrical education. This way they discover the power of speech in presenting facts and the importance of voice quality in narration, which is the true challenge of the art of acting. Children learn how to combine movement and dancing with music, how to improvise and through all this they experience what is called 'theatrical action ' in a particular way. This class is an extension of the equivalent morning activity of the core curriculum.

Arts workshop (for students of all grades)
In this workshop we aim at a deeper understanding of modern arts and at the same time we introduce children to the language of visual communication. That is, we try to determine and comprehend the piece of art through practical applications in our lab.
The areas that the children will be involved in are:
o Painting and drawing: the children use the materials and elements they are already familiar with in a wider range of applications
o Plastic art: with soft materials (initially clay and plasteline) children create their own sculptures and 3-D forms. Later on, they use harder materials, such as plaster and metal.
o Carving: the students make imprints with soft materials, create their own stamps and work on linoleum.
The goal of this workshop is to freely and unconventially develop the children's creative imagination by offering them the joy of completing a work with their own hands.
